Position Summary:
This position will be involved in image-guided navigation techniques for trans-catheter valve replacement.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) :
Minimum

  • Master of Science Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Biomaterials or Biomedical) or other related field
  • 1+ years of research experience or Advanced Degree (Ph.D.) in Engineering  
  • Familiar with image processing
  • Motivated
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical writing skills

 

Preferred

  • 5+ years of work experience or research
  • Working knowledge of Matlab, C++
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology
  • Familiar with image registration
  • Previous experience in image-guided surgeries
  • Well-published

Senior R&D Scientist/Engineer (CLOSED)

AmericanBionic, LLC (www. americanbionic.com) is a company dedicated to interventional instrumentation and educational training models. We are working on several designs of transcatheter heart valve for treatment of aortic valve stenosis and regurgitation. The company has about 30 researchers working on different designs, directly or indirectly.

Position Summary:
This position will be involved in design and manufacturing aortic valves from the initial valve design to stent/polymer manufacturing. Additional responsibilities are regulatory paperwork, validation/testing, participation in animal studies, clinical interaction, sterilization, conference attendance and presentations.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) :
Minimum

  • Master of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, bioaterials or Biomedical) or other related field
  • 3+ years of research experience or Advanced Degree (Ph.D.) in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomaterials, or Biomedical) and 3+ years of experience
  • Familiar with CAD
  • Motivated
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work and communicate with physicians

Preferred

  • Master of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Biomedical) or other related field
  • 5+ years of medical device research
  • Working knowledge of Matlab, C++, SolidWorks
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology
  • Hands-on experience (biopolymers, Nitinol, Co-Cr and magnesium)
  • Experience in biomaterial/biomechanical design and testing in a private company
  • Previous experience in valve design/manufacturing
  • Well-published in literature
